When it comes to writing, you have to learn a lot from your cat if you have one. I know it sounds like the weirdest thing ever but if you do look at your cat, he or she is completely indifferent towards most of the things in life. They do not really want to care about anything either and just enjoy their life.
This is how humans should be, too. As a writer, I have managed to learn so much from my cat, and while it may seem like an overstatement, but I am going to be sharing tips for you that can actually do wonders for you as a writer, too.
Don’t Pay Attention
If you have ever found yourself in a situation in which you were calling out your cat but in all vain, then don’t worry. We have all been there. However, you can learn from the cat’s indifference as a writer. The world is full of critiques. Everyone is a critique for me, and in such situations, the best thing is to not pay attention.
I know creative criticism is always welcomed but if it is getting to your head and messing with your writing process, start being indifferent. I can assure you that it will help you so much and you will have absolutely no issues whatsoever when it comes to such situations.
If you are having difficulties coming up with something original or something that you really want, the best thing that you can do is that you should start writing randomly. It actually is very, very important. You can write about your cat, your fridge, your house, or the childhood that you have had. Your first crush, or such things.
Blow Off Some Steam
I remember I was writing this research paper for my economics course, and I could not get around finding the right words. Although what I had to explain was simple and straightforward, it made things a living nightmare for me.
In that situation, I decided I want to blow off some steam. I went to the gym and worked out for a few hours. Once I was done, it all cleared my head and I could go back to my writing.
The thing that you need to know here is that it is not going to work for everyone. As a matter of fact, different people have different preferences but blowing off steam, in general, is the right thing to do.
Format Everything Properly
Whatever you have written, even if it is just a few paragraphs, you have to make sure that you look back and see if everything is formatted properly. If it is not, then start by looking at the spellings, the grammar, spacing, formatting, and justification.
Once you make sure that everything is aligned properly, you can go ahead and start your writing process all over again.
Take a Nap
As counterintuitive as it may seem, taking a nap is something that happens to be a lot better than anything else. If you are feeling like you can’t write more, simply head to bed. Sleep for a while, and then wake up and start writing again.
Sleep helps a lot. However, do have some coffee if you are tired because it will certainly help you in some ways. The more you know about these things, the better it will help you write better.
We hope that these tips help you write more effectively, and properly. So you do not have to worry about anything else that might come in the way.
